Park, 2020

“Sunlight is warm. And the safest way of comforting is hiding in the shadow.” It’s a hide-and-seek with the figure’s unusual proportion in her environment. An uncanny and alienated way to approach intimacy and kinship is sought and reflected in the scene.

Lighthouses, 2020

Randomly distributed moons “orbiting” around at a certain angle, and lighthouses on the ground happen to be symmetrically included in the scene, presenting a sort of carefully manicured coincidence. The natural and social environments that we take for granted may appear to be random, yet probably we are desensitized by our familiarity with the deliberate carvings in concepts that are all-pervasive. When the concept of the world is turned upside down, the body’s disintegration may no longer be a frightening mutation, but a return to its original form.
